Your Camp Lejeune Claim
Processing Your Camp Lejeune Claim
The Navy Judge Advocate General will order the records proving that you were stationed or working at Camp Lejeune, from the appropriate Federal Agency. If the Navy Judge Advocate General has any issues requesting the documents needed to prove you were stationed at or working at Camp Lejeune they may request records from the claimants at a later date. These requests will be sent to the Wright McCall, LLC team through a message generated by the Camp Lejeune Claims Management Portal and one of our team members will contact you and let you know what we need to do to obtain the requested documents.
It is the claimant’s ultimate responsibility to prove that you were:
1) at Camp Lejeune during the qualifying timeframe, and, 2) that you have one of the qualifying injuries and/or diagnoses. To show a Qualifying Injury, there must be medical documentation showing the claimant was diagnosed with or treated for that illness or condition before August 10, 2022.
Therefore, even though we do not initially need any supporting documents to file your claim, your claim would be expedited if you have any of the required documents in your possession proving that you were stationed or working at Camp Lejeune and/or any medical documentation showing you were diagnosed with or treated for one of the qualifying illnesses or conditions before August 10, 2022. Please upload any documents you may have using the below red “upload documents here” button.
Examples of documents that we need to prove your claim:
- Military records confirming they were at Camp Lejeune. They will order from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and/or the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) as applicable;
- Medical records confirming diagnosis or treatment. They will order from Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals and/or the Defense Health Agency (DHA) as applicable or private hospital facility; and
- Federal employment records confirming they were at Camp Lejeune if a Civilian employee. They will order from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and/or the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) as applicable.
Even though the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) tells you on their site not to order any records at this time, here are some helpful links that you may need to obtain the proof you need for your claim. We have also included some helpful videos that walk you through getting setting up your VA portal and how to get your VA records.
